How to access SIP v2 kubernetes cluster

  1. Install kubectl
  2. Install kubelogin: https://github.com/int128/kubelogin
  3. Use the following kubeconfig file:
apiVersion: v1
clusters:
- cluster:
    server: https://kube-api.vseth.ethz.ch
  name: vseth-cluster
contexts:
- context:
    cluster: vseth-cluster
    user: vseth-oidc
  name: vseth-oidc
current-context: vseth-oidc
kind: Config
users:
- name: vseth-oidc
  user:
    exec:
      apiVersion: client.authentication.k8s.io/v1beta1
      args:
      - oidc-login
      - get-token
      - --oidc-issuer-url=https://auth.vseth.ethz.ch/auth/realms/VSETH
      - --oidc-client-id=vseth-k8s
      command: kubectl
      env: null
      interactiveMode: IfAvailable
      provideClusterInfo: false

This file should be saved in your local system as ~/.kube/config  (you may need to create a .kube  directory in your home directory).

If you run the command kubectl get namespaces  you should see a browser window pop up where you should log in with switch. Then you should see the namespaces you are allowed to access.

If you don't see the namespaces you need or if you get some kind of authentication error, write to support@vseth.ethz.ch
